Made by the son of the late master violin maker Bruno Barbieri of Mantua in Italy. Great full size 4/4 violin with beautiful spruce top and maple sides and back. The varnish is red orange and is oil varnished. The outline and curves on this violin is what you would expect from a great masterpiece Italian violin. Bought on auction recently and does come with original invoices and customs import duties papers and the violin is labeled by maker inside. No damage is visible on this violin and no repairs has been done. The sound is what you would expect, liquid, fluent with volume. It currently has Pirastro Tonica strings on. Included is an expensive Tonareli violin case made of wood and beautifully covered in black for durability. Beautiful arching and two piece back and artistic crafted scroll. Length of back is 35.7. The wood is top class European and well aged. Comes with an Ouchard bow made for the PILLOT workshop and stamped as such, which is silver mounted and weight 61g.
